Dental implants
The natural solution for tooth loss: artificial tooth roots.
In dentistry, implants are artificial tooth roots. Crowns can be placed on them to close gaps aesthetically and functionally, or dentures can be anchored securely. Tooth loss does not only affect older patients. Younger people can also lose teeth through accidents, inflammation or disease.
Implants can restore fixed chewing function. Whether implant treatment is suitable depends on bone, gums, neighbouring teeth, general health and the desired restoration. We explain options, limits and alternatives before planning. If there is too little bone, a bone graft can be considered in suitable cases – this is not a promise for every finding.
How we plan this in the practice
Dr. Kant Oektem focuses on implantology. Suitability is decided after examination, not with a general success rate.
- Examination and planning
- Placement of the implant if the findings allow it
- Healing, then crown, bridge or denture retention
- Checks and care, including early signs of inflammation around the implant
The practice is at Am Briel 64 in Konstanz, close to Kreuzlingen. Related guides: implant pathway (German), inflammation around implants (German) and contact.
